The thing is there’s no such thing as a life where we can live life smoothly like butter. Life doesn’t work that way and by knowing how to deal we can get as close to a stress-free life, It’s not a magic trick, though.
The road to successful stress management is built with habits that we need to practice consistently.
It may take some time to change, but once we get into that flow we can enjoy a life of ease, peace, happiness, and gratitude by only being a little mindful.
If you are curious about enjoying a life that is ‘stress-free’, here are 10 mindful habits of people who don’t take the stress.
I have compiled this list of habits based on the habits that I have developed over the years. Learning from the people we know who are living a mindful and stress-free life is the best practice.
So let’s get started and learn some habits of stress-free people,
Habits of Stress-free People #1. They Live In Present Moment
Our stress in life comes because of anxiety. ‘We are thinking a lot’. And we keep on questioning ourselves.
‘What if this happens to me?’
‘What if this doesn’t work out for me?’
‘What will happen if I lose this
All such thoughts can make us stressed out.
But notice how these thoughts are all pointing towards the future, making us anxious.
And we are worrying about something that hasn’t occurred yet
When these thoughts arise, stress-free people simply become realistic about the thoughts and come back to the present.
So you need to say that everything around me is okay and say that ‘I’m’ at the present moment.
This is how stress-free people handle their lives easily. There is no point in worrying about the things that are about to happen.
Habits of Stress-free People #2. They Come Back to Mindfulness
Breath is a wonderful routine that makes stressless people happy and energetic.
I’ve realised that mindfulness to be hugely helpful in my everyday life. As a working mom, I used to get my things done, but I had to rush through everything.
That may lead to a lot of mistakes when we do tasks without paying close attention.
With mindfulness practices like meditation, deep breathing, and attentiveness, though, I learned how to be more present in every little thing I do.
It may not seem like much, but for some reason, it makes me slow down and give me some peace.
The things around my life might be chaotic, but I can filter out the noise and focus on what needs to be done.
Stress-free people use this amazing tool to come back to mindful breathing whenever a stressful situation arises.
#3. They Have a Positive Perspective
A common among all stress-free people is that they have a positive perspective in life.
They look for meaning in every situation, even the bad ones, and strive to create value out of it. Someone with a negative perspective sees their glass half empty.
Thinking and feeling that your life is going very well, increases the quality of your life.
This is how stressless people make you more enjoyable to be around. They don’t feel burdened with the things they ‘have to do in their day-to-day life, instead, they look at it like a life routine and let them come and hit.
Habits Of Stress-free People #4. They Know How to Say “no”
Say “no” was my biggest struggle and I used to be a “take-on” person. I just didn’t know how to say “no” when the situation called for it. So take it from me, the earlier you know how to do this, the more practiced you’ll be in managing stress.
We all need a little support sometimes when it comes to managing communication with others. You need to lay down boundaries to be the healthiest, happiest version of yourself.
Knowing how to say “no” is a skill you can benefit from for the rest of your life. Stressless people prioritizing their needs is one of the most loving things you can do for yourself. So they say no to doing less and have more mental and physical space.
So if you want to ease yourself, simply say no to everything you are not obliged to say yes to.
Here is what I gained and what I lost by learning to say No.
Habits Of Stress-free People #5. They Take Life in a Bigger Picture
People who don’t take stress in life take life as a play and see life’s bigger picture instead of stressing over every minor thing.
They see it as part of the play when problems and tension arise, and don’t forget to look at the bigger picture.
They let their problems get rid of and easily move on so they don’t take stress. They know that life has better meaning and they are not ready to spoil it.
#6. They have routines that create a positive vibe
People who don’t take stress, don’t take stress because they have rituals to make themselves think about positive moments.
They regularly come back to themselves and nourish themselves will remain stress-free.
For me my ritual or activities for coming back to myself are
- Exercising
- Playing with my kids
- Praying
- Self-care routines
All these activities make me a stress-free person and make me a happier mom.
Habits Of Stress-free People #7. They look at the bright side
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed and frazzled when things get too stressful,
In my younger years, I’d react by looking at all the negatives and overthinking how I could have done things differently.
When years passed away I’ve come to realize that self-blame or blaming others has never gotten me anywhere. These days, I’m all about looking at the bright side of the situation and life.
Be careful not to interact with toxic positivity. While also keeping an attitude of hope and grace.
People who don’t let stress get the best of them still look at things realistically with gratitude. Thinking of your haves instead of your have-nots does help with seeing the good things and keeping stress away
#8. They take care of their body and skin
People who live stress-free take care of their bodies by exercising, drinking enough water, and eating healthy.
Being one stress-free person, I can say that exercise even for 10 minutes is what uplifts my mood and makes me feel better.
I move my body in the morning with home workouts or I go to the gym and sweating helps me be stress-free throughout the day. Working out is good for both mental and physical health.
Along with your body make sure your skin is also healthy which can boost extra confidence in yourself.
Drink water throughout the day and always keep your water bottle close to you to make your daily water intake.
Habits Of Stress-free People #9. They follow a daily routine
I also noticed that stress comes simply because of living a messy meaningless life or being overwhelmed with perfections.
Creating just a simple daily routine immediately structures our day and helps us move in that direction. A Day with no sense of time and grounding will be always messy without any satisfaction.
My daily routine is what helps me live stress-free and I find peace in myself. There are so many benefits to creating a daily routine, and if you can stick with it for just the first half of the day, it is progress.
It is better to do something than nothing and I’m sure slowly you will progress.
Habits Of Stress-free People #10. They know when to stop
Unwillingness to pause is another reason for a person’s stress. When stress comes knocking, they end up wasting time dealing with an overwhelmed mind.
Stress-free people know the importance of taking regular mental breaks and they have this habit of stopping.
Our mind is capable of achieving great things, but it can’t run throughout the day without rest.
Slow down when your mind isn’t cooperating, and take a mental pause when things get hard. Learning to stay calm in every situation makes you a stress-free person
Final thoughts
Mindful people don’t like to bother with thinking about the ‘‘why” what ifs’ or is this happening’. They simply accept things as it is and there is no stress. They accept it with grace and they don’t resist, and they simply surrender. These habits of stress-free keep them calm and give them the power to change what they can and accept what they can’t.
