I fought myself to get things done before I found a practical plan for me. Actually I don’t know how to get things done. I thought that it’s an impossible task.
Gradually I have learned a lot about building a well-organised day-to-day life. It’s not a perfect plan or map to follow. You have to customise according to your life rules and priorities.
For many work-at-home moms (WAHMS), the beauty of multitasking means learning how to multitask and when to do it.
As a work-from-home mom, I develop tricks and shortcuts to manage to get everything done throughout the day.
I would say that knowing when to say no to multitasking is as crucial as learning how to do it.
Because in some circumstances, multitasking is not a good idea.
With some basic tasks behind you, you may even get to relax once in a while!

How I get Things Done So Easily
1. Manage your mental and physical task (train your brain)
You may think combining mental and physical tasks is a big complex task.
But here, you can pair any of your complex mental tasks with the simple physical task. Simply when you wash your dishes, plan your work-related presentation and plans.
Utilizing the power of lists to organize ideas and priorities is very efficient. Also, using technology like smartphones reminders you about essential things ahead of time.
2. Create clear boundaries

Consistent and clear boundaries will train others in your family to respect.
A clear divide between work and life makes most of the time to help your children understand their place in your working environment and your adequate working time.
Train your family to understand that being at home doesn’t mean that you’re available. Set guidelines such as don’t interrupt unless it’s urgent, don’t touch any office equipment, and keep noise levels down during work hours.

I don’t know how this tip makes my life so organized. Once you get used to it, I’m sure that later you may thank me.
Meal plan so you don’t have to wonder what’s for dinner and whether you have all of the ingredients you need.
2. Bulk meals
I feel bulk meals like releasing days with homely food. When you make your curry or chutneys, double it and stick it in the freezer. Grab it when you need a quick meal for breakfast or dinner.
3. Plan before weekdays
Let me first tell you how the power of to-do lists changed my life.
Plan during your weekends for your following weekdays. Do grocery shopping meal plan, meal prep.
Cut up produce, divide and freeze meat and prepare snacks at the beginning of the week, so they’re ready and waiting.
6. Keep rewarding
Of course, you don’t want to ruin your beautiful weekends.
Don’t forget to take a break to feed your mind and soul.
Create a weekly schedule for studying, homework, and related follow-up. Then, reserve one or two days on the same plan for fun and hanging out only, without stress.
Work hard to be rewarded; this will motivate our kids in their studies and us because reward in coming by the weekend.
Extra tips
- Fold laundry straight out of the dryer rather than leaving it in baskets for later.
- During the school year, empty and repack backpacks for the next day every afternoon.
- Practice the touch-it-once rule rather than shuffling clutter around to be dealt with later.
Success comes with a good plan.
Getting more done in advance is a good mindset for breaking down complex things or tasks.
The more you commit to getting things done early rather than under the wire, the more convinced I am that this is the most important thing I can do as a work-at-home mom. We can’t control so many things on a day-to-day basis, but we can get things done ahead of time to have the time and energy to handle the unexpected!
Create a system in your routine which you can start regularly doing. The more you do, the more you see success.
As I always say, there is no perfect thing, and we are not perfect. We follow and do the best things.
