1. Evaluate Yourself
Before you decide to start working at home, evaluate yourself. Try to understand whether you have these qualities, or you can adapt those skills.
Choose Right Career Path (be your own boss)
Work for yourselves is the most amazing part; you will be in charge of your own schedule.
Either you can work as a freelancer, or you can do it for yourself.
Whether you are in the workplace now or are already a stay-at-home mom, the best place is to start with your resume.
There are many career paths for work-at-home moms. These include,
- Become a consultant or freelancer.
- Telecommute the job you already have
- Work-Life Balance (take your job seriously)
- Time management for work-life balance
Time management is an essential skill to conquer life as a WAHM.
I have struggled with this, and it took time to balance my work and life with kids.
When you work from home, you may have two schedules. You will need to be exceedingly forced with the work you need to get done.
You will also be amid your household, where there are always things that need to be done.
Try to set a work-life balance. If you focus too much on your work, your house will get out of control and vice versa.
I recommend you follow the block schedule for more productivity.
2. Have a Childcare Backup Plan
Working at home, mom(WAHM) is being there for your kids.
If you are dealing with deadlines, plan for a trusted babysitter or loving grandparent.
Having grandparents or other relatives as your childcare provider can be a win-win situation, as long as expectations, parenting philosophies, and schedules are discussed in advance.
For many work-at-home parents, daycare doesn’t make sense.
However, preschools and daycare centres provide something parents can’t give social interactions with their peers.
How much childcare and what kind of provider is needed varies from family to family. And on top of that, all this will change as children grow.
3. Be prepared to lose sleep

In between work responsibilities and kids’ schedules, many works at home, and moms find their workday difficult. Practice block scheduling system in your life to make you highly productive.
Getting up before kids are awake and staying up later when they go for a night’s sleep, you may face the same sleep loss.
To overcome this stage, always think about the sweet opportunities which make your life the best.
Also, grab your coffee/tea when the situation becomes worst, and don’t forget to nourish yourself
4. Plan According to Your Life Situation
Most works at home moms don’t start right away, or I may say nothing is possible overnight.
The work-at-home lifestyle is something you can build over time.
Yes! mamas, it’s a bunch of honest sweat and blood, a pure hardworking.
Plan to start small. Fix and make some goals that you can achieve over time.
5. Follow your passion
If you move from the office to telecommuting, try a couple of days and a week at first to see how it works for you and your employer.
If you are building your own business, that also takes time.
It is amazing! I like to follow my passion for online business. It brings colours to our life because we are doing something we like!
6. Family Support
Working from home can be a difficult transition for you and your family. Open up with your family and talk about your decision and create some ground rules.
Quality time spent together is the building block of all relationships.
A better work-life balance gives you the time and energy to develop better relationships with your children and partner.
Make a plan together beforehand so you’ll know what to expect.
It will eliminate a lot of frustration that can quickly enter into your relationship as you both adjust to the changes in lifestyle.
7. Organised Home Work Life
The organization is the foundation on which efficiency is formed.
You will need to have systems in place to organize your home life and work-life to make things go as smoothly as possible.
That’s why you need a home office so that it’s a space in which you can stay focused and access everything you need to work.

Seriously you don’t need any fancy home office when you just started.
Kid’s needs, noise, and distractions happen all the time, and having a space to keep your work separated will allow you to concentrate and be more productive.
You may need to find your place within your house to set up a work area with minimal distractions.
If you don’t create separation between your office and the rest of your home, your work will follow you everywhere.
8. When the to-do list seems endless, look at what you have accomplished.
There will be days when you get nothing on your list done.
In your mind, all you managed to do was keep the kids fed, clothed, and happy.
Take a step back and realize that the one thing you did accomplish is the one thing you have to do. All the other things can wait.
Always keep boundaries and enjoy your work from home life.
Millions of children with working parents have grown into successful, loving adults. The same goes for children with a parent staying home with them.
This is your personal choice, so think wisely and make your final decision. Just know that your decision doesn’t have to be permanent.
You can always go back to work, or you can leave your job later if now’s not the right time.
