Simple Ways To Deep Clean Your Dirty Kitchen
1. Top of ceilings and light fixings
Using a handheld vacuum or duster, dry dust the tops of the cabinets to remove all dust and other loose particles.
Spray with an all-purpose cleaner and wipe down.
If your kitchen tends to accumulate a lot of dust, you can place the wax paper down on the cabinet tops so you just have to change out the wax paper when it needs cleaning.
Wipe down all light fixtures with water and vinegar spray and replace any bulbs that need changing.
2. Upper and lower cabinet cleaning
Clean Organise pantry
Take out all food & place it on the table or countertop.
Check labels & toss items that are expired, stale, empty, inedible, etc.
Wipe down all shelves with soapy water or kitchen cleaner.
Put food back in the cabinet.
Arrange like items together and put the oldest items in front and; the newest in back.
Make sure the most frequently used containers are easily accessible.
Kitchen cabinets tend to get dirty fast.
They get food and drinks spilled on them, grease spatters, and everyday dust and grime.
They also accumulate so much dust on top.
While everything is out of the cabinet, give it a thorough wiping with a microfiber cloth with soap and warm water.
Lastly, use the microfiber to wipe down the cabinet doors and remove all those little stains and smudges.
3. Clean Your Appliances
Ovens and microwave
Ovens and microwaves can get messy fast, so it’s important to clean them thoroughly as often as you can. You can see this easy low scrub method of cleaning the oven here.
Next, move on to clean your microwave.
I have found the easiest way to clean the microwave is by boiling water and vinegar in the microwave.
Place a bowl with 1 cup water and 1 cup vinegar in the microwave for about 3-4 minutes.
It will create a steam that will soften all the baked-on food. You can then just wipe the spills away.
Clean your Fridge and Freezer
Every time I feel like getting the fridge clean is an important part of deep cleaning a kitchen.
Start by taking everything out and putting it on a table or your counters.
If anything is moldy, expired, or empty, now is the time to go ahead and throw those food items away.
Wipe down your refrigerator and freezer shelves with a bit of soapy water or a food-safe surface cleaner.
Take the produce drawers out, empty them, and wash them thoroughly.
Once the shelves and drawers are dry, you can put the remaining food back into the fridge and freezer.
Group your food items by type or place food with the nearest expiration dates toward the front so you eat those items first.
Finish by wiping down the front of the fridge, including the handles.
4. Clean Kitchen countertops
Dish soap and water along with a cleaning cloth will do the trick.
If you are dealing with water stains or an extra greasy surface, try using a mixture of two parts water and one-part vinegar.
Spray the solution onto the mess, and allow it to sit for a couple of minutes before wiping it clean.
Once you have washed them down rinse the microfiber cloth and clean all of the mixtures off the countertop.
Once you have the countertops clean you can move on to the sink.
Start by scrubbing down the sink.
Take a stainless steel cleaner or an abrasive cleaning solution and scrub the entire sink from the top to the bottom and the sides.
After the sink is scrubbed, rinse it with clean water.
5. Clean kitchen floor
Start by sweeping the entire floor so that loose crumbs and food particles are removed.
If you have chairs or other movable furniture, take them out of the kitchen so you have access to the floors.
Finish the kitchen by sweeping the floor and mopping the floor.
It will get rid of any greasy floors and have your kitchen shining!
Mop your floors using a heavy-duty floor cleaner, and make sure they’re dry before walking back into the kitchen.
If you have throw rugs in the room, now is a good time to wash them, too.
