Basic 5-minute Skincare routine for Busy Moms
I’m a busy mom, so I don’t have a ton of time to spend on my skincare regimen.
So I have these 3 step 3-minute skincare routines for busy moms like me. I love this because this routine has nothing more or less awesome.
If you don’t have a skincare routine start doing it now. Trust me this takes less time. So let’s get started,
Morning Skincare routine
Morning can be a hectic time for busy mothers. Taking a few minutes in the morning for yourself can give you healthy and glowing skin.
a. Cleanse
Since you’re not waking up with a full face of makeup (hopefully), your morning cleanser should be gentle enough to wash off any grime from the night.
But a splash of water will also do just fine. If you are prone to breakouts or have sensitive skin, pick cleansers that are gentle to your skin.
b. Moisturize
Moisturizer is essential to replenish your skin’s water content so you have skin that looks well-rested.
Look for products that restore damaged and aging skin, boost collagen production in the skin to prevent fine lines, and have vitamins and acids to erase blemishes and pigmentation.
As a busy mom, stress is inevitable. And stress causes premature aging.
That’s why your skincare routine should include anti-aging products to prevent your skin from showing signs of aging too soon. So always invest in a good moisturize that can do a great job.
c. Sun Protection
Now the final step is sun protection. Apply sunscreen daily in the morning on top of your moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated.
The most dangerous environmental factor for your skin is over-exposure to the sun. Wearing some form of protection is critical, especially during the warmer months.
Sunscreen protects your skin from damage due to UV rays from the sun and reduces signs of aging such as wrinkles and age spots.
You can also opt for moisturizers that also contain an SPF so you save time by applying only one product.
It is especially important if you’re always out with your kids when taking them to school or other activities.
For the skin, I try to use very pure moisturizers and sunblocks.
Evening Skincare routine
After a busy day of work, our skin has been exposed to a lot of harmful elements and harsh environmental conditions. All of these cause skin damage and premature aging of the skin.
The only way one can revert the damage is by following a regular night skincare routine. The benefits of night skincare include improving skin tone, reducing blemishes, and rejuvenating the skin.
Let’s dive into the nighttime skincare routine
a. Cleanse
Remove all your face and eye makeup if you use it daily. Even when I choose to only do this step at night my skin can breathe. So this is the first step of my routine.
I wash with either of these facial washes after a night shower.
If you use makeup on daily basis you may need a foaming cleaner. I usually massage my face with coconut oil before this step. This makes my skin soft and super clean.
b. Special treatment
So now it’s time for special treatment.
As a busy mom, stress is inevitable. And stress causes premature aging.
That’s why your skincare routine should include anti-aging products to prevent your skin from showing signs of aging too soon. We need that extra care!
I use face serums or if I get time I will put on a face pack. The vitamin-c serum is my all-time before-bed face treatment magic.
I want something to protect my skin for my satisfaction, even if I have less time in my pocket.
Face serums are the solution for many problems like – acne, dullness, pores, wrinkles, etc.
c. Moisturize
In both skincare routines cleanse and moisturizing is a must. I make sure this step is done every single day.
Come on my dear busy mom, hydrate your skin and body. Stay hydrated by drinking 8-10 glasses of water every day.
Alternatively, you can apply a sleeping cream at night which is a heavier moisturizer that can often be more effective in restoring moisture to your skin, or a simple sheet mask over the weekend for an added boost of moisture.
All these come if you take a little amount of time for yourself!
Final Thought
With all the hard work we put in, mothers should be able to take care of themselves the same way they do for everyone else!
And don’t limit your routine to only mornings.
You can do your routine at night after the children go to bed. Just find time to pamper yourself because you deserve it!
On the days when you have extra time, use a toner or double cleanse. Keep this up and your skin will thank you for it!
With the right cleansing, toning, moisturizing, and protection schedule you will get smooth, radiant, and glowing skin which takes less minute a day.
I hope you like this 3 step skincare routine for busy moms
