My best days and mornings come from a little planning the night before.
A productive night routine is a great way to reduce stress for moms who work.
It allows us to more evenly allocate our priorities to help eliminate stress in high-pressure moments (like getting dinner on the table and getting reluctant kids into bed).
Set a time every night to turn off your phone or laptop.
Spend the last 30 minutes of your day winding down screen-free and go for your self-care routine.
Things you can do at night to make mornings easier
- Meal prep in the evenings for the next day
- Reset the house before bed
- Check the to-do list and list out top priorities for the day.
- Packing kids’ lunches ahead.
- Picking out clothes for yourself and the kids to wear the next day.
- Start a bedtime routine for kids and yourself
- Set alarm to wake up before the kids
2. The Morning Routine

A morning routine is just as important to help make mornings easier.
When you get up in the morning and follow a routine, no matter how simple, that sets the tone for the rest of your day.
A productive morning routine will help us get out the door with less stress.
The best morning routines will help us find more time for ourselves and make progress on our goals.
Having a morning routine completely changed my day, and I say, my life when I was finally successful with it.
After weeks of trial and error in finding the perfect elements of my routine, I discovered the key to a successful morning routine is an evening routine that would set me up for success.
When I woke up 2 or 2.5 hours before the kids I’d get so engrossed in my work, Why?
Because it wouldn’t interrupt my deep workflow.
If it’s just too hard to get up before your kids at least an hour earlier), or just try 20 minutes.
Depending on what you like to get done before the kids wake up, you may do any of the following things:
- Exercise
- Eat your breakfast: Trust me on this one! Fueling yourself is an essential item in the perfect daily routine for moms.
- Shower and get dressed
- Work from home
Just try to get up early when it’s possible; the rest of the time, you need your sleep, and that’s okay.
Things you can do in the morning to make your day easier
- Wake up time that’s at least one hour before your kids get up.
- Spend the first 10 minutes of that time organizing your thoughts for the day.
- Choose a set order for getting ready and follow it.
- Stagger your kids’ wake-up times if possible.
- Delegate tasks that need to be done each morning.
- Skip any tasks that can be done later in the day.
The first task of the day should be something very easy to achieve.
When you enjoy that little hit of success first thing in the morning, you’ll be motivated to complete your list.
I will say that the more I can do the night before, the better.
I pack the lunches, while my husband lays out the clothes and any work for a school that my daughter needs. I
must stay flexible though because I have two very opinionated kiddos who may decide they don’t want to wear what I’ve picked out.
Conclusion
For mom, morning routines cement how the day will go. Starting harried and behind leads to anxiety and stress.
Starting off the day enthused and at peace means… no matter what the day brings, you’ll feel in control and able to handle it.
I hope that you found this to be a great resource for you as you work to become the more organized Mom that you want to be and leads you to happier and more fulfilled life!
Try these two routines of busy and organized moms today and you’ll be on the path to becoming a more organized mom. It helps!

Then you’ll see what time you have left and work around there.
